Health disparities exist throughout the United States. What are some ideas for reaching out into the community and implementing a sex educationprogram to reduce STDs and unwanted pregnancies for a population of minority teens?
Health disparities, especially those that are public health concerns, tend to be especially pervasive in the communities at the bottom of the socioeconomic ladder. For instance, the spread of sexually transmitted infections and teen pregnancy are two general public health concerns; however, a direct correlation is apparent between early/risky sexual behavior and the components of a child’s socioeconomic disposition.
