The Yin organs interrelationship is the core of Chinese medicine. The theory of of interrelationship among the internal organs is the core of Chinese medicine. It is the most important basis for clinical practice. The internal theory is the most comprehensive of Chinese medicine. Let’s us look closer at the Ying-Yang internal organ pairs and how they associate with Chinese medicine.
In traditional Chinese medicine, there are six Yin organs paired with their related six Yang organs. The Yin organs are liver, heart, pericardium, spleen, lungs, and kidneys. The Yang organs are gall bladder, small intestines, San Jiao, stomach, large intestines, and bladder. The liver paired with gall bladder; heart paired with small intestines; pericardium paired with San Jiao; spleen paired with stomach; lungs paired with large intestines, and kidneys paired with bladder. The interrelationship between a Yin organ and its pair Yang organ is strictly functional. For example, the liver produce bile and is mainly responsible for the direct flow of Qi. The liver paired organ is the gall bladder, which function to store and excrete the bile produced from the liver. The gall bladder also facilitate the free flow of Qi along with the liver. If the liver is dysfunctional, its paired organ the gall bladder will also be dysfunctional.
Yin organs are defined by their structure and storage of substances. Yin organs store the essential substances ( Blood, Qi, Essence, and Body fluids) received from Yang organs. Yin organs do not have exterior opening on their body; they are considered internal organs that paired up with their respective Yang organs.
